Restaurant features

This restaurant is located right next to the Uwazoe IC, just east of the center of Iga City, along National Route 25.

While their main offering is set meals, they have a unique style of cooking meat on a hot plate provided on each table.

The menu includes items like the “Horumon Set Meal” (pictured below with the option for onions), “Pork Set Meal,” and “Beef Belly Set Meal,” each priced at 650 yen. This place serves hearty and delicious meals that cater to drivers, and it has become popular even among young women.

Let’s start with the “Horumon Set Meal.” It comes with rice and red miso soup by default, but it only includes meat, so I added a topping of onions (300g).

The amount of onions is generous, almost hiding the horumon. The second-generation owner ignites the fire, so you wait while occasionally stirring and cooking the meat.

The red miso used here is also a main product of “Iga-Etsu,” an established sake brewery in Iga. They use the characteristic miso sauce often found in Mie’s yakiniku.

As you start eating from the pieces cooked through, you’ll find it incredibly delicious. The miso sauce does a great job, but the horumon itself has an honest flavor. There’s no unpleasant odor or murkiness.

I wanted to cook the onions a bit more, so I moved the horumon to the side and put the onions in the center.

The owner stops the fire when it looks done.

There’s a notice inside the restaurant that says, “This is a place that pursues cheap and delicious food, and we have a small staff, so don’t expect top-notch service.” However, they are very friendly.

Please note that they do not accept additional orders (indeed, handling additional orders and payments can be cumbersome), so you need to decide your entire order upfront. Please be understanding about this aspect.
