Why not search for your favorite restaurants from international ranking services such as the Michelin Guide, Asia’s Best 50, La Liste TOP 1000, etc.?
List of international ranking and rating list articles covering restaurants in Asia
The restaurant rankings including the Michelin Guide, Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, La Liste TOP1000, and OAD, which cover all of Asia, are becoming more comprehensive every year.
Although they are all rankings for high-end restaurants, each has a different policy and individuality, so it is recommended to choose a restaurant taking that into consideration.
About the Michelin Guide
The Michelin Guide is a grading system for restaurants.
It is currently being implemented in 12 cities outside of Japan, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou in China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taipei, Taichung in Taiwan, Seoul in South Korea, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket in Thailand, and Singapore.
On the other hand, “Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants” is a ranking system where professional chefs and food enthusiasts vote for the best restaurant experience of the year.
Since it is evaluated by professionals, lively restaurants are picked up, but since it is a ranking, the positions tend to change to some extent every year.
La Liste TOP1000 is a ranking system that scans reviews from over 600 guides in 165 countries around the world and ranks them according to a fair algorithm.
It covers a wide area due to its large denominator, but its reaction speed to new trends is slower as a result.
There is also a rumor that La Liste TOP1000 was created by the French food industry involving the government, to counter the popularity of the “World’s 50 Best Restaurants” primarily run by British media.
Knowing the differences in evaluation axis due to these positions makes it more interesting.
